After his apprenticeship in Odawara, Soshu (Sagami Province) with master Yoshihama Shuaki, Hideaki won a prize at the 1924 Tokyo Foundry Association Exhibition. He received the gold medal (first prize) at the 1925 Aomori Prefectural Industrial Fair, the gold medal (first prize) at the 1926 Yokohama City Industrial Fair, the first prize at the 1929 Tokyo Handicraft Exhibition, a bronze medal at the 1930 Foundry Association Exhibition, and participated in the 1935 Trade Encouragement Association (where he received a Certificate of Merit) and the 1940 Bunten Fair.
