"Nantes Arbalète Commode In Cuban Mahogany, Louis XV Period – 18th Century"
Charming Nantes port chest of drawers in Cuban mahogany. Its top has molded and cut-out edges on the front. This piece of furniture, with its front face carved in a retracting crossbow, opens with three drawers at the top and two large drawers below, all separated from each other by dust covers. The front of these openings is animated thus harmoniously following the lines of the top. Each of these storage spaces is equipped with a lock in working order accompanied by its iron key, gilt bronze pull handles with an openwork bronze plate, like the ornate entrances. The lower crosspiece of this chest of drawers is beautifully scalloped and animated. The sides of this piece of furniture are paneled, and see their lower part animated. The uprights are rounded and end with small snail feet. We will undoubtedly appreciate the elegant appearance of this chest of drawers combining a substantial storage capacity and rich ornamentation. It will delight its owners with its pretty mahogany shades, which will blend perfectly with current interior styles.********Period: 18th centuryExcellent condition after restoration in our workshop.
