"Singing Bird Signed Breguet "
Breguet cigarette or jewelry box with singing birdSuperb gilt brass box, signed Breguet and equipped with a mechanism made by Alfred Bontems (it is documented that the two houses collaborated). The box is guilloché with geometric patterns, with the winding hole and the Breguet signature on the reverse. When opened, a small bird appears: it turns from left to right while moving its beak, wings and tail to the rhythm of the melody. Remarkable feature: the bird is automatically triggered when the case is opened and disappears again if it is closed before the end of the tune.Provenance & Reference: Sold by Breguet (Breguet archive reference). Inventory 4777: Cigarette box, guilloché gilt metal, with singing bird. Sold on March 6, 1945 to Mr. Ducos (price not indicated). Produced in collaboration with Bontems.
