18th Century Pistol From The Southwest Walnut Chiseled Wrought Iron Solid Silver French

Artist: Inconnu
An 18th century flintlock pistol...
Carved walnut stock with lots of details everywhere...
The barrel and mechanism are made of wrought iron, all chiseled...
Just like the screws...
On some parts there are still points of oxidation and rust...!
Some parts of the finishes are made of solid silver, like the underside of the trigger which unfortunately has a missing part...
It's like the entrance of the sprinkler which is also made of chiseled silver...
And there again the sprinkler is missing...
I will consult the restorers I know to see if it is possible to repair...!
And finally there is a box with the shell-shaped lid which finishes the stock, it is also made of solid silver...
I could not take everything apart for fear of damaging it to see if there were still marks...! But it is for me a rather interesting thing, and which I think is rare...!
Origin from the SOUTH-WEST - FRANCE.. Otherwise there are plenty stamps with two letters...
One inside engraved in the wood where the barrel fits...
One on the part of the "under trigger"...
And several on the barrel of the pistol...
With a number "566" ...
I don't know these objects very well so for the series of double initials I think it's to be sure that all the parts manufactured separately are for the same weapon...!
After the number "566"
I don't know what it corresponds to...!
Then there are two other Initials, I would lean towards the gunsmith...
There is another stamp that we can guess in a circle...!
I might have some information a little later...!
Otherwise for the wooden part there too when we return from vacation it will be put back as best as possible...
The barrel and certain parts of wrought iron have been cleaned as best as possible...
The percussion mechanism does not engage to fire...
The rest yes...!
Even in this state it is very pretty...
It is of quality with beautiful materials...
And this box with the shell that covers it all...
In the meantime I offer it in its used condition...
