"Napoleon III Period Writing Case In Thuya Burl, Boule Marquetry, Mother-of-pearl Inlay"
Beautiful writing desk from the Napoleon III period. It is made of thuya burl, blackened wood and marquetry with mother-of-pearl inlays. Quarter-round brass rods all around. The central cartouche is made of cut brass, rosewood, blackened wood and mother-of-pearl inlay. It has a monogram. Inside, there are 2 inkwells as well as small compartments for filing mail or storing pencils. The top is slightly curved. Note, 3 small pieces of mother-of-pearl missing on the top but which go completely unnoticed. I do not have the key. Overall, this writing desk is in very good condition and entirely original.
