Rare and important statue of Joan of Arc in polychrome carved wood. Original polychromy. She stands hugging her flag decorated with golden fleur-de-lis, her hand on her heart. Very beautiful facial expression. Good used condition: note a split in the wood on the vertical, and the top of the flag is missing, see photos. Rare in these dimensions and this material (wood). The sculpture is of quality with many finely crafted details, such as the fall of the belt, the pleats of the skirt, the left foot coming out of the base, her helmet at her feet... 19th century period.
