Rare fan from the mid-18th century. The leaf is made of paper, and is painted on the front side with a superb scene depicting the sacrifice of Iphigenia. The frame is made of finely engraved, sculpted, and gilded mother-of-pearl in two tones. It measures 11,61 inches closed and 21,65 inches in diameter open. France, circa 1750.
