Vertes 1895/1961. Color lithograph "the circus" countersigned and numbered in pencil 105/250. Hungarian. Moved to Paris after the First World War. Studied at the Académie Julian in Paris. Became known in the mid-20s for his lithographs and illustrations. His favorite subjects were the circus, balls and erotic scenes. Vertes enjoyed a great reputation justified by a talent often described as exceptional.
