Pair Of Tulip Vases, Earthenware Flower Pots, Apocryphal Mark Widow Perrin, By Samson
Very pretty pair of tulip vases in glazed earthenware, entirely hand-painted. Very beautiful landscape decorations with gentlemen and carriages on one side, bouquets of flowers on the second, all in the purest 18th century style. Our two vases bear the initials VP under their bottoms, an apocryphal mark for the Veuve Perrin in Marseille, they were made by the famous Samson factory in Paris. The Samson were geniuses of imitation and the best reproducers of old pieces in art and ceramics during the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
