Large Polychrome Chest Dated 1787 – Work From The Alps

Large polychrome wooden chest - 1787 - Alpine work Charming fir chest, entirely original and in a beautiful state of preservation. Its front is decorated with two framed polychrome panels, adorned with stylized floral motifs on a red background, typical of rural productions in Eastern France at the end of the Ancien Régime. Appreciable particularity, the polychromy is also found on the upper shelf. The date 1787 is inscribed on the front face. The wrought iron lock is complete and works with its key, which is rare.
