Mid-19th Century Mahogany Somno Bedside Table.
This bedside table, called a somno, is made of mahogany and flamed mahogany veneered on softwood. It is cylindrical in shape and rests on a molded plinth. A semicircular door opens on the front to reveal a shelf. It is topped with a slightly veined white marble, set into the top. Very good condition. Period: first half of the 19th century, English manufacture. Interval between the shelves from bottom to top: 27 and 25.5 cm. Ø of the top: 40.5 cm. Ø of the marble: 25.5 cm. H 75 cm.
