Elegant wooden box inlaid with mother-of-pearl with a hasp lock reminiscent of Venetian Renaissance work. However, it was probably produced in Syria at the end of the 17th or beginning of the 19th century.
Condition:
The hinges were previously replaced.
The compartment inside is missing, often removed over time.
Some small, but not serious, losses to the mother-of-pearl.
