Marcelle (Marcel) Leducq (1879-1955)
Panther, Art Deco sculpture, circa 1930

Superb animal sculpture representing a panther, work of the French sculptor Marcel Michel Édouard Marie Leducq (1879-1955), active in the 1920s-1930s.

Executed in metal art with its original golden bronze patina, it rests on an elegant polychrome marble base.

The whole powerfully expresses the elegance, power and agility specific to the animal aesthetic of the Art Deco period. The sculpture is signed on the paw: M. Leducq.

Condition: Good general condition.

Note: small traces of use and a slight scratch on the patina on one side (not serious, visible on the photo). The marble is in excellent condition.
Biography: A pupil of Mercié and Peter, Marcel Leducq exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he received a mention Honorable in 1909.
