On an oval naturalistic base signed "Georges Busson, France", with a dark brown patina.

Georges-Louis-Charles Busson studied painting under his father, Charles Busson (1822-1908), and was affiliated with the Société des Artistes Français in 1885. He received silver medals at the Universal Exhibitions of 1889 and 1900.
He is best known for his hunting paintings, and opportunities to acquire a bronze sculpture by the artist are rare.
