"mbuya" Mask, Pende People, Drc
Mask with a face that is both severe and very gentle. The mouth is closed, the nose is flattened, the eyes look downwards and large eyebrows meet above the nasal bridge. It still has its beard and its braided raffia headdress. The skin tone is red ochre. This mask was used in the "Mbuya" dance.
