"Bouquet of Tulips in a Vase"

Oil on canvas,
Signed lower right,
Countersigned and titled on the back of the canvas by the artist,

Beautiful work by the painter Pierre Ambrogiani which represents a still life with flowers in a white vase decorated with blue flowers. The artist is distinguished by his bright and high-contrast canvases, by the use of pure and violent colors of the Fauve painters.
The painter gives relief to his composition by the use of the knife technique which creates impasto of material, particularly on the tulip flower buds and certain details of the background.

Postman in 1928 until 1950, Pierre Ambrogiani is a self-taught artist, influenced by the painters Auguste Chabaud and René Seyssaud. He was encouraged by the painter Antoine Serra, who lent him his studio.
In 1936, he met Pablo Picasso, who became one of his friends, at the inauguration of the Maison de la Culture in Marseille.
He achieved his first success when the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Marseille bought a work from him.
In 1943, he set up his studio in Marseille.
After the war, he participated in numerous exhibitions in France and abroad; and received numerous prestigious awards.
His growing reputation led the artist to obtain numerous public commissions and illustrate numerous books.

His works are preserved in numerous national and international museums.

Dimensions: 73 x 54 cm without its frame and 92.5 x 73.5 cm with its beautiful carved and gilded wooden frame from Maison RG.
