"18th Century French School, Portrait Of A Child Dressed As A Hussar, Pastel From The Louis XVI Period"
French School, charming portrait of an aristocratic child wearing a blue hussar uniform and holding a child's rifle in his right hand. He wears a powdered wig in the fashion of the 1770s-1780s. 18th century pastel, presented in a beautiful 19th century cane frame gilded with gold leaf. Our very elegant work with fine work to represent the complexion and the frogging of the uniform is the work of a master. Unfortunately the painting is not signed. It recalls the work of Jean Baptiste Perronneau who depicted children dressed as hussars. Excellent condition, the pastel is well preserved, the gold leaf gilded frame has been cleaned. Frame dimensions 49.5 x 58.7cm Drawing dimensions: 37.8 x 46.5cm
