César Baldaccini, known as César, is a French sculptor, born on January 1, 1921 in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) and died on December 6, 1998 in Paris. He is a member of the Ecole de Nice and the Nouveaux Réalistes, a movement born in 1960. He is also the creator of the bronze trophy for the César awards ceremony for French cinema. He lived in Roquefort-les-Pins (06) and had a studio in Nice.
