The Ciboure pottery was founded in 1919 by Etienne Vilotte (1881-1957), Louis Benjamin Victor Floutier (1882-1936) and a certain Lucat, opposite Saint Jean de Luz in the Basque Country. 4 periods: period of creation by Vilotte, Floutier and Lucat with the LF or LUK mark and the "cat's paw; period Étienne Vilotte with a VE Ciboure stamp mark, used from 1922 to 1945; period Rodolphe Fischer with a RF Ciboure stamp mark, used from 1951 to 1977 where each piece is again signed by the decorator; period of Max (son of Rodolphe) and Carmen Fischer, from 1977 to 1995 with a MF Ciboure mark. The factory closed its doors in 1995.
Main decorators: Louis Floutier until 1922, then Charles André Floucault (also called Chaf - 1880-1969), Richard le Corrone (1909-1977), Pedro Garcia de Diego, Jean Léon or Almes. After 1945: Marie Fernandez active from 1946 to 1952, Maurice David from 1948 to 1958, Roger Berne from 1951 to 1968 and Monique Ordoqui active from 1969 to 1974.
