A rare and large kodansu in gold lacquer, executed in takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, and gold leaf, shaped as a traditional cottage and decorated with chrysanthemums. The front features seven drawers with silver handles, while the sides are adorned with windows framed by fine bamboo rods in bronze. The sloping thatched roof evokes the image of classic Japanese rural homes.
