Mercury-gilded Copperware: Golgotha, 17th Century
Beautiful chapel calvary, small size, tool-stamped and cast copper, mercury gilding (ormolu) on mound and Christ, still 70% visible. This little chapel treasure is very neat,
Golgotha is based on a wooden core, tightened by a beautiful nut as is no longer made,
Christ has kept almost all of its original gilding... a pleasure.
Provincial work from our region of Nîmes, probably 17th century.
Dimensions: 21cm x 11cm diameter, weight: 0.4kg.
