"19th Century Mandalay Burmese Wooden Standing Male Figure "
19th Century Mandalay Burmese Wooden Standing Male Figure depicting a naked man with a stick and headdress, with a serene expression. He rests on the ovoid base of a tree, whose trunk supports the back of the sculpture. Decorated in gray-green tones, hand-carved with a naive and coarse folk art quality, even in the anatomical rendering, which nevertheless makes it pleasant and familiar. Burma, late 1800s, in good condition; only the joints between the shoulders and the torso have been consolidated and retouched.
