"Decorated Porcelain Flowerpot – Samson Factory, Paris (unsigned), Late 19th / Early 20th Century"
Polychrome enameled porcelain planter, attributable to the Samson Manufacture (Paris), active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The object has a decoration inspired by oriental models (China / famille rose), with floral motifs, butterflies and stylized foliage on a white background. The upper part is decorated with a decorative frieze on a cobalt blue background, embellished with flowers and leaves in colored enamels. The body is decorated with hand-painted flying butterflies. Two side handles in the shape of stylized mascarons are applied on either side. The base and the upper edge are highlighted with a golden net. The fact that the piece does not appear to be marked (which is common with Samson, as many of their pieces were not signed, precisely to reproduce the style of old pieces).
