"Stoneware Vase By Annie Fourmanoir In The 1970s"
Trained under Paul Chaumeil, Annie Fourmanoir began her career in the 1960s. She received a silver medal at the Vallauris Biennale and actively participated in the French ceramics scene, notably at La Borne, a major center of the post-war ceramic revival. Her work has been regularly exhibited in leading institutions, such as the Musée National de Sèvres, the Musée de la Céramique de Rouen, and the Fondation Bernardaud in Limoges. This slender, thrown stoneware vase features a beautiful satiny reddish-brown surface, marked by throwing striations and a slightly flared neck, a piece typical of her understated, sensitive, and sculptural approach. France, circa 1975.
