Neoclassical bronze clock with two patinas from the Restoration period showing Mezentius wounded on a terrace decorated with chiseled palmettes and foliage. In Virgil's Aeneid, Mezentius returns from being exiled to Latium for cruelty and attacks the Trojans. He is killed by Aeneas, and the moment dedicated on this clock corresponds to Mezentius's plea to be buried with his son, Lausus, who had tried to save his life. Missing the sword, the mechanism is complete and in good condition but deserves an overhaul. Sold with its key.
