Rare full-relief sculpture of Christ at the Column, finely carved in Mediterranean red coral. The nude figure, hands bound and head crowned with thorns, is rendered with remarkable anatomical detail and emotional depth.
The mount is crafted in filigree gold, adorned with natural pearls and set with a small cabochon ruby at the base. A pearl tassel pendant completes the piece, in the ornate style of 18th-century Neapolitan or Sicilian goldsmiths.
Total height: approx. 10.5 cm
Materials: red coral, gold, natural pearls, cabochon ruby
Condition: excellent, minor natural fissures in the coral
A rare devotional object, highly collectible.
