"Christ In Bonds Or The Presentation Of Jesus By Pontius Pilate"
Small painting on copper from the 17th century (counter-reformation period), Pontius Pilate as an oriental dignitary, turbaned, dressed in a red pelisse, an atypical representation for a Roman governor but relatively common in Baroque iconography, presents Jesus to the crowd, his hands tied and his body tortured. Scene with colors still fresh and of great intensity on this small copper plate.
