"Corozo Snuffbox Depicting Two Men Dressed In Period Costume"
An ovoid corozo nut snuffbox with carved decoration. On the front, two men dressed in period clothing, one with an umbrella and the other with a cane, leaning against the wall of a house.
On the back, there are scrolls. In the upper part, there is a representation of the head of a grotesque animal with its sulphide eyes and a metal spout whose stopper is held by a chain.
In the lower part, there is a representation of the head of an animal (pig?), with its mouth open.
Dimension: length of +/- 10 cm.
Made in France or England at the first part of the 19th century.
