Camille-Félix Bellanger (1853 - 1923) Oil on panel French School. Signed and dated. C. Bellanger, student of Cabanel and Bouguereau at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Second Prix de Rome in 1875. Works in the public collections of the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Pau. This portrait represents a seated woman holding a fan in her gloved hands. Her dress, with carmine red as the dominant color, is embellished with an imposing flower on her neckline topped with a pearl necklace. Signature at the top right "C. Bellanger", dated 1880. Condition: good, except for a very small restoration (fold of the right arm, see photos)
