Object description :

"Charles 3 Of Spain Coin Ring (1787) 8 Escudos, Old Cut Diamonds / Yellow Gold & Platinum"
Ring adorned with an 8 escudo coin minted in 1787 representing King Charles III of Spain, mounted on a discreet setting so as to reveal no other metal and to highlight only the coin. This is nevertheless punctuated with four old-cut diamonds set on platinum to emphasize its precious character. The ring is therefore made of monetary gold, 18 KT yellow gold (eagle and owl head hallmarks), and platinum (mascaron head hallmark). The old-cut diamonds are mounted in square settings, in balance with the overall roundness of the ring. The ring itself, of the “Parisian bangle” type, is very soft. Its volume is extremely flat on the finger. Around the bust of the sovereign is the inscription: DG HISP.R 1787 CAROL.III.DG HISP.R means: Dei Gratia Hispaniarum Rex, which translates to: “By the grace of God, King of the Spains”.CAROL.III. refers to Charles III of Spain, who reigned from 1759 to 1788 (here dated 1787).This type of coin was minted in the Spanish colonies (such as Mexico, Colombia and Peru) or in Spain itself, and served as a valuable currency for international exchange, especially in America and Asia.Total weight of diamonds estimated at approximately 0.04 ctGross weight: 5.27 gRing size: ……. - can be modified at your convenience by our workshop, resizing offered (current diameter 1,... cm / US size…..) Condition: imperceptible micro-scratches on the body of the ring, natural inclusions in the diamonds not visible to the naked eye. Note: the piece has gaps at the level of the serrations of the perimeter, as well as adjustment striations on the bust of the king: these are not signs of wear or deterioration, but original marks, intended to remove metal weight so that the weight complies with the required standards of this value of piece.
