A rare covered sugar bowl from the Chamberlain Worcester factory, circa 1815, decorated with the famous "Dragon in Compartments" (ornament) design. The body and lid are divided into gilt compartments, decorated with a stylized dragon, fantastical beasts, and vivid bouquets in the Regency palette. The design is inspired by Chinese porcelains of the Kangxi period, but is distinguished by its refined English interpretation. At that time, the factory was owned by the Chamberlain family, pioneers of innovation in English porcelain. The absence of a mark is typical for this type of piece. The "Dragon in Compartments" (ornament) design is among the most valuable and sought-after in the history of English porcelain. Pieces decorated with this design are actively sought by collectors worldwide. Condition: Excellent early condition. Minor wear to the gilding, a small firing crack near one handle, which is originally gilded and almost invisible. No chips or restorations. Very well preserved colors and details. Dimensions: Height (including lid): 13 cm Width: 18.5 cm Depth: 10 cm Weight: 351 g Please examine the attached photographs carefully, as they are an integral part of this description. If you have any questions, we will be happy to answer them. The item will be shipped with full tracking and insurance.
