Monstrance Gothic Reliquary In Engraved Bronze - 16th Century

Finely engraved bronze reliquary, resting on a six-pointed star base. The shaft is decorated with an olive bearing six painted enamel medallions probably representing saints or apostles. The rectangular mount is adorned with an elegant engraved diamond-shaped decoration, surmounted by a crenellated frieze typical of the flamboyant Gothic style.
In the center, a circular opening with scalloped edges was intended to display a relic or a host, recalling that at the time monstrance and monstrance designated the same object used indifferently, and that our two sacred elements were almost always found associated.
A work of French or Flemish workshop.
Used condition - old patina - missing enamels, a pinnacle, a summit part of the Cross type and the two windows.
