"Beautiful Portico Clock With Marquetry Column, Charles X, Silver Dial, Lemon Tree And Rosewood"
In new condition, this remarkable portico clock with columns in rosewood and lemonwood marquetry, from the Charles X period (early 19th century), with a silvered moiré dial and Roman numerals in "anagram". Decorated with lyre and foliage, fillets, spinning top feet and lemonwood borders with fine grain on a background of equally fine rosewood (the quality of the veneers and its execution is of the highest quality). A preserved piece with magnificent bright and matt gold gilding, notably the beautiful pendulum, the column bases and capitals and the dial rim, well chiseled 46.5 cm. A beautiful piece in working order, new from the period with its sober blued steel hands... A gong with an Argentinian sound will indicate the hours and half hours, and its beautiful and clear presence will honor your home, fireplace or furniture... The finesse of the marquetry will seduce you with its preciousness and elegance. A beautiful clock that works well and is also pretty...
