Frame dimensions: 44.6 cm x 34.6 cm Drawing dimensions: 23 cm x 14.5 cm Nicolas Dorigny, born in 1652 in Paris where he died in 1746, is a French painter and engraver. Son of the painter and engraver Michel Dorigny, trained by Gérard Audran, he interpreted, in London, the famous cartoons of Raphael with Claude Dubosc then Domenichino and GiovanFrancescoBarbieri Guercino. He was admitted to the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture in 1725.
