KNIFE called Katar Djamadhar, with scabbard.
Mughal Empire, India, early 19th century
Iron, steel, gold damascene
Total length: 36.3 cm (without scabbard) - Blade length: 20.9 cm


Steel blade, damascus, with double cutting edges, median ridges and double recessed gutters. Pierced mesh tip.
The forge is integral, leading to a U-shaped handle composed of a double damascus branch, convex on the outside, and linked by two crossbars. It is decorated with gold damask, floral motifs and friezes.

Beautiful preservation of the original damascene.

Wooden scabbard covered with red felt (faded).
