JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868). KABUTO composed of 10 brown lacquered copper strips (very slight losses). THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in copper with seven steps, some with a black patina. SHIKORO (neck cover) with four steps in brown lacquered copper and red and plum silk braid. FUKIGAESHI (small wings) in hammered copper decorated with concentric discs and red and plum silk braid. MABI SA SHI (visor) in brown lacquered copper. MAETATE stamped, chased and gilded copper depicting a peony flower. Dimensions: 34 x 46 x 38.5 cm. Sold with the base.
