A student of Jean-Paul Laurens and Pharaon de Winter, he painted portraits until 1920, then devoted himself to seascapes and landscapes. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1903, the year he presented a portrait of a man and won a silver medal in 1907 with the painting "Après les jeux" (Musée des Beaux-Arts de Cambrai). In 1909, he presented the painting "Leur fils" there, and in 1912, "Prière à Notre-Dame des Flots" (Poirson Prize). in 1913 L’Homme au chien, portrait du peintre Hubert; in 1920 Histoire vécue (Petit-Palais, gold medal). He also participated in numerous art galleries, including annually at the Galerie Montsallut in Lille, and exhibited in, among others, Roubaix, Douai, Mulhouse, and Nantes.
Out of competition at the Salon des artistes français, he specialized in landscapes with snow effects and presented at the 1926 Salon Environs de Dijon; in 1927 Port de Concarneau; in 1928 Les Thoniers blancs and Le Vieux pont and in 1929 Bateaux au repos and Eglise de Ramoulu.
