Two wooden globes covered with paper spindles bearing captions and engravings, one depicting the terrestrial globe and one the celestial globe. Surrounding them are concentric rings depicting the months with the zodiac signs, latitudes, and longitudes. The globe is inscribed with the words SMITH'S TERRESTRIAL GLOBE, containing the whole of the latest discoveries and geographical improvements, as well as the tracks of the most celebrated circumnavigators, LONDON C. SMITH & Son, 172 STRAND.
The celestial globe bears the inscription SMITH'S CELESTIAL GLOBE Containing all the known Stars, Nebulae &c. Compiled from the Works of WOLLASTON, FLAMSTED, DE LA CAILLE, HAVELIUS, MAYER, BRADLEY, HERSCHEL, MASKELYNE. The Transactions of The ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY OF LONDON &c. &c., Smith & Son
