"Silver And Ebony Jug, Late 19th"
Charming small Louis XV style tripod egotistic jug in solid silver with ebony wood handle. The body and lid are decorated with twisted ribs while the spout is adorned with acanthus leaves. Each foot is topped with a small cartouche surrounded by foliage.

Various marks and hallmarks are visible under the body:
-Signature “L. LAPAR/ORFEVRE”. Léon Lapar was a goldsmith active in Paris, at 16 rue de Choiseul, between 1878 and 1897.
-Partially erased Minerva hallmark
-Hallmark of master goldsmith Georges Fouquet-Lapar (initials GFL and a goldsmith's chisel), registered in Paris in 1897 and crossed out in 1925. The latter was the son-in-law and successor of Léon Lapar.
-Number difficult to decipher (A…)
