"Belle Epoque Love Medal, Augis + Qu'hier - Que Demain Rose-cut Diamonds On Yellow Gold "
Medal pendant in 750/°° yellow gold (18 KT, owl hallmark) from the Lyon medalist AUGIS. An emblematic medal of this house, called "Médaille d'Amour", this is a rare Belle Epoque piece, adorned with roses around the edge of the medal, and rose-cut diamonds on the “+”. The medal itself is placed in openwork mode in the center of a ray guilloché giving it breadth. The small size of the medal also makes it a rare model, since it is no longer found at the medalist's than 20 mm. Its delicate color, close to green gold, helps to anchor this jewel in the ancient universe of the beginning of the century. The message of eternal love carried by the medal, "more than yesterday less than tomorrow", takes its source verbatim from the poem by Rosemonde Gérard-Rostand, a poet born in the 19th century. This poem, entitled "The Last Rendezvous" or "The Eternal Song", appears in the poet's first collection, the one that made her famous, dating from 1889, "The Pipes". It was written the year of her marriage to Edmond Rostand. The medal is soberly signed with an AA; its reverse, currently blank, can be engraved at your convenience by our workshops (on estimate).
