"Cavalry Clash, Oil On Canvas Late 17th Century Follower Of Dirck Stoop"
Beautiful oil on canvas (original canvas) depicting a cavalry clash or cavalry skirmish between European armies. The work is presented in "good" condition in a beautiful and rich carved and gilded wooden frame, in its period gilding (very beautiful). Dirck Stoop 1618-1681, painter born in Utrecht, but who lived in Rome for about ten years. He also worked with other Dutch artists, such as Weenix. Beautiful renderings, very theatrical side, with the white rump of the horse, the touch of carmine red of the rider's breeches and his lapiz blue blanket of the horse.
