"Tomb Period Chest Of Drawers In Cherry Wood "
Superb 18th century tomb chest of drawers in cherry wood - France, 18th century Elegant Louis XV period tomb chest of drawers, curved on all sides, in solid cherry wood with a beautiful honey patina. This refined piece of furniture demonstrates the expertise of 18th century cabinetmakers, combining balance of forms and decorative richness. The curved body with three rows of drawers on the front follows the so-called “tomb” shape, typical of the Louis XV style, with a sinuous line emphasized by sculpted snail feet and very beautiful carving work on the front and on the uprights. Each drawer is adorned with finely chiseled original bronzes, openwork handles and rocaille keyholes, harmoniously complementing the grain of the cherry wood and the curve of the piece of furniture. The top is made of a matching noble wood, in a slightly darker shade, with some marks of time which in no way alter its charm of authenticity. ???? Period: 18th century ???? Style: Louis XV ????
