Square scarifier with 16 blades. Instrument used, between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 1900s, to cut the skin before applying a vaccine or to apply suction cups called "scarified" (small bloodletting). The instrument is decorated on two of its sides with an iron rosette, on the top a key allows the adjustment of the blades, 2 latches allow the opening and unlocking of the blades.
