- "Brilliant student and researcher at the Gia Dinh Secondary School of Decorative Arts then at the National Higher School of Fine Arts in Saigon, specialist in silk painting; he was subsequently director of the Gia Dinh school from 1971 to 1975 before the fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975. He is nicknamed by his peers "the last emperor".
