"Gilded Bronze Dolphin Inkwell Circa 1820"
Beautiful gilt bronze inkwell, square base in breccia marble, stepped base in gilt bronze chiseled with a frieze of acanthus leaves, the whole surmounted by a dolphin supporting a shell mounted with a hinged lid in the shape of a scallop shell. The interior is composed of a glass inkwell, an hourglass, a mobile receptacle, and two round holes acting as pen holders. Original gilding Good condition Height: 14.5 cm Width: 8 cm Depth: 10 cm Work circa 1820
