"The Dordogne Valley Towards Castelnaud La Chapelle, Pierre Billard (1900-1971)"
Very beautiful oil on isorel panel representing a panorama of the Dordogne valley with its limestone cliffs, the painter having set up his easel near the castle of Castelnaud la Chapelle, a famous site in the Périgord Noir. It is signed lower left Pierre Billard, countersigned and located on the back. Bordeaux painter (Tonneins 1900-- Bordeaux 1971), Pierre Billard painted many landscapes of the South-West with a generous technique, a rich palette of colors in the impressionist style which gave his works a beautiful luminosity. He was a member of the workshop group and exhibited at the Indépendants bordelais. .Oil in good condition
