Pair Of Painted Panels With Grotesques Late 1800s,  vertical shape, polychrome tempera paintings on canvas joined by a vertical seam in both panels. This pair of canvases painted with grotesques depict a surmounting of fancy human figures, medallions with portraits, masks, flowers and leaves, soft volutes and foliage alternating according to the decorative taste of the candelabras of Renaissance decorations. In good condition apart from minimal tears consistent with dating. In this pair of ornamental paintings warm colors predominate, shades of brown, sage, with minimal green and blue accents against the greenish gray background. The canvases are mounted on a sturdy frame with two crosspieces. Provenance Italy late 1800s.
