Pair Of Antique Earrings Set With "old Mine Cut" Diamonds
Pair of antique earrings, converted from a Napoléon 111 Brooch. They are each set with a rare Old Mine Cut Diamond in the centre, surrounded by 35 Rose Cut Diamonds, total approximately 1.5cts.
Set in Silver, there is a trace of gilding at the back. These "Old Mine Cut " Diamonds were used from the beginning of the 18th century to the end of the 19th century. They come from the first found Diamond Mines of Brazil and the Galconda Mines in India, hence their name "Old Mine Cut".
These Diamonds are hand cut, so there are never any identical.
The central Diamonds weighs approximately 0.25/0.30cts each and are surrounded by 35 Diamonds each, Rose cut.
The Diamonds are a bright brilliant white and clear.
This type of cut of Diamond is very sought after and also rare.
