Pierre FOREST was born in 1881 in Nice. He died in 1971 in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon des Inépendants in Paris from 1931 to 1943, where he was a member. He painted views of Nice and landscapes of the Île-de-France region. It is with beautiful touches of light that the painter depicts this riverside where a few boats are waiting. With his brushstrokes and strong contrasts, he makes the water's surface vibrate and brings this peaceful landscape to life.
