BACHMANN Alfred Félix Août (1863-1956)German school 19th - 20th centuryBorn October 1, 1863 in Dirschau (near Danzig) - Died in 1956 in Ambach-on-Obb.Painter of lively landscapes, seascapes. Orientalist.He was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Königsberg in the former East Prussia. Then he settled in Munich in 1891.  - He devoted to the landscapes of Iceland, Normandy, the coasts of Portugal, sites of Tenerife, curiosities of Venice, Istanbul and the Bosphorus;  which suggests that he traveled a lot. In 1907, in a residence in Frankfurt am Main, he played with softening a large board representing a landscape of Iceland - His works should not be confused with those of the Swiss-born painter Adolph Bachmann born in 1880.
